Lloyd and Linda, with their son Charles, formed Whitmore Steel in 1995, with the intent to provide the San Diego area with high quality structural and miscellaneous steel erection and fabrication. Forming the backbone of the company on his considerable experience as field union ironworker, Lloyd recruited only the most experienced and qualified union field foremen in the San Diego area. Whitmore Steel has gone on to successfully complete steel projects in excess of 2.5 million dollars, ranging from the decorative curved steel/glass/stainless steel stairway at Qualcomm Stadium to entire structural steel shell buildings, at Sycuan in El Cajon, CA.

Today Charles Whitmore continues the traditions set forth by his father. Chuck has gathered around himself a staff with a combined 200 plus years in the structural/miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection industry. We perform work in the industrial, multi-story residential, multi-story offices, major shopping centers, biotech, and hospitals industries. We are a city of LA approved fabricator and have performed over 10 million dollars of OSHPD work in last few years alone, some of the most strict and technical work around that requires the expertise that Whitmore Steel was founded on.

Although Lloyd has turned over the day to day operations to his son, he is still very much involved in the company and continues to be its spiritual leader.
